Meet Bruce Skaug


Rooted deeply in Idaho's rich heritage, Bruce Skaug is a fifth-generation Idahoan, drawing strength from the legacy of his ancestors who first homesteaded in Canyon and Boise Counties. His commitment to family is evident, having built a strong bond with his wife, Debbie, since 1986, and raising six children who have graced them with nine grandchildren.


In the political arena, Bruce is an influential force in the Idaho State House, now in his third term as a State Representative. His legislative prowess was apparent right from his freshman year, achieving the impressive feat of turning over a dozen bills into signed law, possibly setting a record for a freshman representative.


His leadership roles in the House are significant. Bruce chairs the vital Judiciary, Rules and Administration committee and plays an influential role in the Local Government and State Affairs committee. These roles underscore his commitment to upholding conservative principles and safeguarding Idahoan values. His dedication has earned him esteemed endorsements from the Fraternal Order of Police, the NRA, and Idaho Chooses Life.


Additionally, during his transformative six-year tenure on the Nampa City Council, Bruce's exceptional leadership was instrumental in earning Nampa the recognition as one of the best-run cities in the United States by WalletHub. Beyond his civic accomplishments, Bruce is the driving force behind Skaug Law, a prominent law firm he runs with distinction. He also holds a significant position in a prosperous land investment company, underscoring his multifaceted expertise and commitment to both community and profession.


His service extends to the heart of the community. Bruce has been a pivotal figure on numerous non-profit boards, and his deep faith has led him to play active roles within his church.


Outside his professional life, Bruce is a lover of history and Idaho's pristine landscapes, enjoying adventures on his ATV and hands-on work with his chainsaw and ax.
